..."popsicles on the porch"...what a great afternoon treat and our favorite way to spend time together! These are simple and precious moments! Princess #1 and Princess #2 along with Little Man #1 and #2 are my inspiration for most of these writings.

Let's Make A Cake!

The other day the girls were watching Barney. (My husband's favorite!) It was an episode in which the kids celebrated Barney's birthday with a huge cake! So, the girls and I decided that would be a fun way to spend our Monday...making a cake! (Little did I know just how much of a mess would soon fill my kitchen table and how much icing would end up in my girls' hair!)

We headed to the store and big girl got to pick out the cake she wanted. Of course it was no surprise when she picked out a pink cake! She was so excited and kept asking, "mommy's who's birthday is it?" Since we did not have a birthday to celebrate and since she has been learning in school and church that God made everything, we decided to make a "Thank You Jesus for our Family" cake.

Below are some fun pics of the girls at work! I must say big girl did a great job and it was fun watching little girl get into it too! I actually had to pry the icing bowl out of her grip! Hilarious!

O Mel!!! I love it! How fun it is to bake cake with the girls! My two girls are grown, Kellie Ann my baby was just married this past weekend... It was just yesterday when we were baking cakes and carving pumpkins! Savor these times they go at a rapid pace... you blink and they are getting married! I kind of felt like I was there with you all baking the cakes because of the way you posted all of the pics! Thanks for taking me back a few years!

Could your daughters BE any cuter!!! Really, they are so cute! I love having Iza in my Kids Crossing class... And it is so inspiring to me how you bring God into everything, which I think is so important for kids to know--even cake!!
